Lauren A. Crockett, M.S., LMHC- Counselor and Psychotherapist
Individual Counseling and Psychotherapy
Bellevue, Washington + Telehealth
Counseling is an important part of understanding ourselves and exploring the thoughts and feelings that motivate our behaviors. When we have a greater insight it often leads us to increased self worth, confidence, and personal growth. No matter what you might be facing, I am here to offer you support as we examine together challenges and barriers that are keeping you from living the life that you want and deserve.
I work with individuals looking for support around life dissatisfaction and recurring patterns that keep getting in their way. I also help clients who feel anxious, stuck, or are going through a major life transition such as college, a change in relationship, new parents, divorce, new job, or significant loss. I have over 15 years of experience offering empathic and reflective counseling for those in search of clarity, direction, healing, and growth. Through our work together, you will rediscover your core strengths and potential.

My Approach
My belief is that therapy is a collaborative process, based on the unique wants and needs of the individual. During this process you can expect compassion, respect, honest acceptance, and genuine feedback. I love what I do and am inspired by seeing the real benefits that the therapeutic relationship can offer.
Clients describe me as warm, humorous, authentic, and direct. My goal is to build trust and safety in our sessions together so that you feel comfortable enough to talk about the hard things. We’ll examine how past experiences may have shaped current situations and what you would like to see change in your life. I provide a safe environment based on empathy, genuine connection, and mutual respect. During therapy, I rely heavily on using your strengths to draw on one’s own resiliency and natural abilities to achieve your goals.
About Me
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who provides a safe and non-judgmental place for people to explore life’s sensitive issues and work to overcome those obstacles. My theoretical training includes many approaches but I primarily use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client Centered Therapy in order to help the client uncover patterns that keep them stuck while meeting them where they are at. At times I will employ other therapeutic approaches depending on the individual needs of the person and the plan we create together.
I received a Master of Science degree from the CACREP accredited Mental Health Counseling program at Western Washington University. I am a nationally certified counselor through NBCC and an active member of the American Counseling Association. I am licensed in the state of Washington as a Mental Health Counselor. To enhance my skills and keep up with the most current counseling information I attend workshops and continuing education classes. My experience over the past fifteen years has allowed me to work with clients of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Frequently Asked Questions
Psychotherapy can help provide a safe place to explore your thoughts, feelings, and help to resolve your inner conflicts. It is my experience that the types of people who typically benefit from this process are those who spend a great deal of time taking care of others. Because of this, it might be even more difficult to ask for help. The following list is some of the reasons a person might seek therapy:
- Feeling stuck
- Lonely or isolated
- Sadness and depression
- Life transitions
- Trauma and loss
- Relationship issues
- Personal growth
- Low self esteem
- Difficulties with health and wellness
The therapeutic process will look different from person to person. Some might start in order to deal with a specific or unexpected even in their life, such as a job loss or divorce. Others choose therapy to help manage long standing issues from the past that continue to affect their thoughts and behavior patterns. Many clients find it beneficial to see a counselor to help them explore or develop parts of their life that they are not entirely satisfied with. No matter the reason, working with a counselor in a supportive environment can help you discover new strategies, coping skills, resolve conflicts, and guide yourself through future hardships. Therapy gives you a safe space to show up authentically.
The answer to this question depends on what the individual and counselor decide together. Counseling can be short term and focused on managing specific challenges or can be longer term in order to explore deeper rooted issues. Goals are set in the first few sessions, and we agree on a length of time together based on them.
Similar to the question above, the frequency of sessions are individualized and based on what the client and therapist decide. Weekly appointments are typically the most beneficial in order to get the most out of therapy. Standard appointments last for 50 minutes.
The fee for an initial intake is $195, and standard sessions after that will be $185.
I am a preferred (in-network) provider for Premera Blue Cross and Regence Blue Shield. This means I can bill insurance directly for my services and the entire or a good portion of the session fee will be covered.
For most other insurance, I am considered an Out Of Network provider. This means that most clients who have insurance are eligible to be reimbursed a significant portion of my fee. I will collect the full fee on the day of service and provide a receipt (also known as superbill) for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
If you’re thinking about using insurance for our work together, it is important that you contact your insurance company directly and confirm your benefits.
Here are some helpful questions you can ask:
If In Network:
- What are my mental health insurance benefits?
- Do I have a deductible for mental health services? If so, how much?
- What kind of co-pay or co-insurance do I have?
- How many sessions per year is covered?
- Are Telehealth/Teletherapy sessions covered?
If Out of Network questions above and:
- What are my out-of-network benefits?
- How do I go about submitting a superbill for insurance reimbursement?
Please understand that you are responsible for 100% of any fees that insurance does not cover including deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and late cancelation/no show fees at the times of service and will be charged to the credit card on file.
We have busy lives, and I understand that at some point you may need to cancel an appointment. I do require a minimum of 48 hours notice of a cancellation. You are responsible for payment for your session in full when cancellations are received less than 48 hours in advance. I am not able to bill your insurance for missed sessions.
Please feel free to contact me via email with any questions you might have. I understand that this process can be confusing and a bit overwhelming at times and I am here to make it as easy as possible on you.
